I believe in Santa. Four times. I made these hinged wood Santas years ago. They are still among my favorite Christmas decorations. They usually sit on the hearth beside the fireplace. In this photo they're in front of a metal door that I painted to look like wood. I have to admit that three of the Santas are sort of copies of some I saw in a magazine. The one with the wreath is totally my own design.

I LOVE this! I carve Santa's too, but mine are small. I never thought of doing a big panel like this. What an awesome heirloom you have created.
